Turnkey renovation of a 120m² apartment in in Lombardy, Italy.

The renovation of this house began with a timely and accurate work on the spaces’ functionality: brighter entrance, larger main bathroom, addition of a laundry room and an ensuite bathroom. The client also asked that the house would be a classic environment, refined but with a contemporary tone. The living area is bright andairy. The warm white of the walls naturally combines with the rustic natural oak parquet floor, characterized by marked and decisive grains.

Classic, refined, contemporary.

The master bathroom has a strong, material, unique character. The anthracite grey used on the ceiling and walls redefines the perception of this space: from a narrow, long and tall bathroom into a bathroom with correct proportions. The pointed lighting of the adjustable spotlights underlines the room’s most spectacular elements, such as the shower and the sink. The structure of the suspended cabinet in natural Nordic oak recalls the bedroom’s parquet, while the porcelain stoneware top is a great connection with the covering and the floor. This is really a modern bathroom with a strong personality.

Kitchen

The client’s request was for a separate, large and welcoming kitchen, which would be used not only for cooking, but also as a gathering place. To optimize the useful working space, we designed and created two new walls: one for the sink, the dishwasher and the induction hob; the other one for the fridge/freezer columns and the oven/microwave column.

On the same wall there is also a table/snack surface, ideal for quick lunches.

The shutters are white lacquered ashlar, designed to match both the doors and the classic contemporary style of the house. The HPL top houses an induction hob and a flush-mount sink.

A band of coloured cement tiles breaks up the doors’ classic nature and it also gives a strong character to the entire composition.

Above the wall units, a plasterboard infill hides both the laundry ventilation system and the hood ventilation, ensuring better practicality when cleaning the kitchen and giving the house a more linear aesthetic.

Double bedroom

To improve the living comfort and thermal insulation of thisdouble bedroom, we decided to create a full-height plasterboard false wall with rock wool insulation on the north-facing head wall. A low wall with a white lacquered wooden shelf designed to be both the headboard of the bed and a bedside table shelf completes the space and makes the room a more elegant place.

The lighting for the sleeping area was designed very carefully and scrupulously.

In order to adapt it to the many different needs that a person might have duringthe day, we designed a soft light LED strip, with a dimmable power supply: this will always give you the possibility of creating your ideal atmosphere, based on your preferences or the time of day.

For this double bedroom, we decided to choose warm tones in order to make the environment intimate and welcoming: the beige on the head wall takes on the role of greatest impact, while the warm white, on the other hand, welcomes you into the most private place of the entire house.
