Renovation and energy requalification of a 180 m² semi-detached house in Lombardy, Italy.

This renovation project was born from the desire to shape a space not only to be lived, but also where cutting-edge systems and emotions can find themselves a home. Emotions coming from a skilful harmony of light, volumes and materials. The internal spaces’ distribution were entirely revolutionized, in order to adapt the different domestic spaces into something more modern: thus our staff created a large open space and it carried out a distribution optimization. The first principle was to create a universe that was inspired by the neutral, light and cold tones of the Nordic/Scandinavian style, but also took the essential forms of a contemporary style, creating an elegant and engaging overall harmony.

At the same time of the interior renovation, interventions were carried out for the house’s energy requalification, thanks to the 110% Ecobonus. The old radiator heating system was replaced with an Uponor “Minitec” under floor radiant system, powered by a 7kW BAXI electric heat pump. The rooms’ thermoregulation is guaranteed by Wi-Fi thermostats installed in each single room. Finally, the electricity produced by the 6 kWp JA Solar photovoltaic system makes the house’s entire heating system perfectly sustainable and virtuous.

Kitchen

The living area has been redefined by knocking down the old kitchen and bedroom’s wall, creating a single large environment aimed at living daily moments. The kitchen integrates with it perfectly, above all thanks to an island that create a sort of bridge between the dining and the living areas. It was in fact designed with the intention of creating a sharing space where method, warmth and creativity would mix. The refined style is a union between Scandinavian and modern, where cold, neutral tones and light wood integrate with the aesthetic rigor of clean and traditional shapes.

In terms of distribution, the kitchen is made up of a working surface on the wall adjacent to the wall near the window and with columns organizing the oven, the microwave and a free-standing SMEG fridge. The materials chosen align with the context of the entire house: warm white fenix for the doors and drawers, wood-effect HPL for the worktop. The island remains the main protagonist and it expresses the full potential of this environment by constantly maintaining a visual relationship with the coming guests and experiencing one’s living area at 360°. In order to distribute the sleeping area in an orderly manner, the hallway, currently arranged vertically, was rotated and optimised.

Double bedroom with en suite bathroom

Render camera da letto

it is an intimate place in which you can rest at the end of the day, so it is worthy of a lot of attention. The bedroom is a perfect mix of comfort and charm. The double bed with its wooden structure captures the attention and balances the background made up of a panel of wooden slats which manages to create a continuum with the chosen parquet and the petrol colour of the head wall which personalizes this environment intended for relaxation. The bedside tables were replaced by multifunctional tops chosen to match the bed, maintaining stylistic and chromatic coherence. Lighting was very important when our staff worked on the bedroom. Preferably indirect, with a warm tone, adjustable and modulable, it creates the right atmosphere for a night’s sleep.

For the area near the bed, where it is usual and desired to have a more direct and punctual light, we opted for the inclusion of suspended lighting fixtures directly coming down from the ceiling. If for the guest bathroom we thought about adding a quick and regenerating shower, for the master bathroom we opted for a free-standing tub: here you can take care of yourself and also get rid of all the stress accumulated during the day. To enrich the tub, our team decided to put a wallpaper with floral motifs. It creates an elegant backdrop, thanks also to the wall-washing lighting: in fact it both manages to embellish this bathroom as a whole, but it also gives it an incredibly relaxing atmosphere. The peculiarity in terms of distribution of this en suite bathroom is the fact that it was created by taking advantage of the position of the old hallway.
