Renovation of a 70 m² apartment in Lombardy, Italy

A living room with multiple atmospheres. Thanks to a careful study concerning lighting, it was possible for us to create a refined and changing space, based on the needs and moods of the people living here: from a relaxing environment to a more stimulating one. An RGB LED strip and a low wall are now matched with the sofa seat. Furthermore, thanks to RGB LED technology, this living room can take on infinite shades of colour. The chromatic and geometric correspondence between the porcelain stoneware plank floor and the wooden beam ceiling gives more depth and dynamism to the experience of this living room.

Design the space, dream the experience

Our design effort led us to study a kind of lighting which should be organically integrated with the wooden beamed ceiling. This operation was made possible thanks to the insertion of a painted metal element which, on the one hand, recalls the construction system, and on the other allowed us to hide two LED strips. It is thanks to these two LED that we were able to create a very relaxing soft light inside this room. Among the few colours and many shades of grey, the kitchen becomes the exceptional element of this environment. The peninsula, facing the living area so as to maintain the relationship with the coming guests, has an induction hob and an integrated snack top. The doors, sides and top in black fenix create a unique element, but with a strong personality.

Double bedroom

The bedroom is the space that most reveals the person who will live in this house. It is an expressive space, which tells us something about Andrea, about his passion for travels, of his favourite colour, grey, of his philosophy of being able to be self-sufficient. With a few hints, it tells us a lot about his inner universe. Grey takes shape in all its variations without being monotonous or banal: it starts from the bleached wood-effect porcelain stoneware floor and then it moves on to the wall surfaces with their chalk grey.

The Glamora Hotspot wallpaper characterizes the bed’s upper headboard, recalling the theme of travel. The grey shade perfectly contextualises this element within this double bedroom. We enriched the headboard of the lower bed adding a low false wall with an integrated LED strip. We also placed a white lacquered wooden shelf that our client can fill up with furnishing accessories, personal objects and books. Despite the presence of some wooden beams, two black cylindrical pendants are dropping from above so as to give some more light to the bedside tables.

Bathroom

A translucent sand-coloured resin-effect floor enhances the hard and material rendering of the large black slate covering. Matt black taps and shower profiles accentuate the decisive mood we decided to use for this room. A directed lighting generated by the pendants and the adjustable projectors highlight the material rendering of the dark coverings. The result is a bathroom with a great visual impact and a strong personality.

From a distribution point of view, given its small dimensions, the room’s layout was completely revised and optimized in order to make the best use of every available centimetre. We replaced an internal push hinged door with an external pull folding door in order to give as much space as possible inside the bathroom. To give a greater sense of visual continuity and to reduce the perception of a restricted environment, the shower tray was made uniform with the flooring.

To everyone, their own Universe.
